In a candid conversation with Mashable, Bhumi shared, "My very first earnings came through Yash Raj Films. I was overjoyed with the Rs 7,000 I received. I handed it to my mom, and I believe she still keeps it safe. Those days, a significant portion of my earnings went towards repaying a loan I had taken while pursuing my film studies."

Bhumi remembered being asked to leave Whistling Woods college due to insufficient attendance. She sought opportunities as an assistant director through friends, but YRF came forward with an offer to work as an assistant casting director instead.
