Buxar, Bihar - A restaurant in Buxar, Bihar has been ordered by a court to pay Rs 3,500 to a customer after it failed to serve sambar with its Special Masala Dosa, priced at Rs 140. The court ruled that the absence of sambar caused "mental, physical, and economic" distress to the customer.

It is customary in many places to serve sambar and chutney with dosas, making the absence of the accompanying dish a point of contention. The legal battle ensued when the dissatisfied customer took the matter to court, leading to the recent ruling and subsequent penalty for the restaurant.
