At Tuesday's International Weightlifting Federation World Cup, Bindyrani Devi—a weightlifter who had previously earned a medal at the Commonwealth Games—took home the bronze medal in the women's 55 kilogram category.
The 25-year-old athlete lifted a total of 196 kg (83 kg plus 113 kg), placing third overall, despite competing in a non-Olympic weight class.
It was far from stunning performance from the Manipuri lifter, who had finished in second place at the 2022 CWG in Birmingham with a total weight of 203 kg.
Gold received by North Korean competitor Kang HyonGyong of India, who weighed 234 kg (103 kg plus 131 kg). This being said, her total weight was a staggering 38 kg lower than her opponent.
The silver medal received by Romania's Cambei Mihaela-Valentina, who achieved a personal best weight of 201 kg (91 kg + 110 kg). Olympic hopeful Mirabai Chanu will compete in the 49-kilogram weight class in Paris.
Bindyarani's 113-kilogram lift earned her silver. There are three types of events that compete for medals at continental, World Cup, and World Championships: total lift, clean and jerk, and grab.

Even though Bindiyarani won the most recent Olympic qualifying event, it doesn't mean she'll be able to attend the Paris Olympics.
