In a shocking incident in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, BJP worker Prithviraj Naskar was found murdered at the party’s local office. Naskar, who managed the party’s social media accounts in the district, had been missing since November 5. His blood-soaked body was discovered on the night of November 9, raising tensions between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Authorities have arrested a woman in connection with the crime, who admitted to attacking Naskar with sharp weapons. Police suspect personal motives behind the murder, possibly related to a dispute or relationship involving the accused. "We are exploring the angle of the deceased having been involved in a relationship and any quarrel with the arrested person," a police officer explained.

The murder site, the BJP office, had been locked from the inside with a collapsible gate, prompting the police to break in. The suspect is believed to have escaped through a rear exit. The woman was tracked down using mobile phone surveillance and confessed to the crime during questioning.

The BJP has blamed TMC activists for Naskar's death, accusing them of attempting to intimidate party members. BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar condemned the incident, calling it part of the “bloodthirsty and oppressive rule” under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. However, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh denied these claims, suggesting Naskar’s personal enmities may have played a role. Naskar's father also alleged that his son had been threatened by TMC leaders for organizing protests during the recent Durga Puja festivities.
