In his year-end press briefing, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized the deepening partnership between the United States and India. He affirmed that the collaboration within the Quad, comprising India, Japan, and Australia, reached new heights. Notably, the historic visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the US marked a significant milestone in the bilateral relationship with President Joe Biden.

Blinken expressed, "We've deepened our partnership with India. We've elevated cooperation through the Quad with India, Japan, and Australia." He underlined that the US partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region have never been stronger, and the commitment to engage with China stems from a position of strength.

The Secretary of State highlighted the alignment of the United States with the G7, the EU, and other allies to collectively address challenges posed by Beijing. Efforts to address China's coercive trade practices, concerns in the Taiwan Strait and the East and South China Seas, and human rights issues have been more effective through coordinated engagement.

Blinken acknowledged US efforts to normalize relations with China, including high-level diplomacy, which has contributed to reducing the risk of competition escalating into conflict. The recent meeting between President Biden and President Xi Jinping in Woodside, California, during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, demonstrated tangible progress on crucial issues.
