Music Council (IMC) orchestrates International Music Day, a celebration that
resonates globally. This harmonious occasion underscores the significance of
music and musicians in our world. International Music Day strives to promote
musical art and foster global unity through the language of melodies.
History rings with the inception of
International Music Day in 1975, courtesy of the International Music Council,
an organization founded by UNESCO in 1949. Guided by Lord Yehudi Menuhin, the
council firmly believed that music could serve as a bridge connecting cultures
and communities. Lord Menuhin eloquently advocated for this day, citing compelling
reasons to recognize music's profound impact.
In the enchanting city of Lausanne,
Switzerland, the 15th General Assembly passed a resolution dedicating a special
day to music. Thus, on October 1, 1975, the world embraced the first
International Music Day.
This day's significance transcends borders,
uniting societies and people through the universal language of music. It offers
a unique opportunity to celebrate and contribute to a more harmonious and
joyous world. It's essential to differentiate International Music Day from
World Music Day: the former promotes peace through music, while the latter
encourages the practice and learning of music.
On this International Music Day, let's
spotlight five Bollywood actors who harmonize their acting prowess with
remarkable singing talent.
1. Ayushmann Khurrana: Ayushmann, a versatile
actor, enchants us not only with his on-screen performances but also with his
melodious voice. He has serenaded us in chart-toppers like "Saadi Gali
Aaja" and "Nazm Nazm."
2. Farhan Akhtar: Known for his acting
brilliance, Farhan has also left an indelible mark in the world of music. His
unforgettable performances in "Rock On" and "Zindagi Na Milegi

have struck chords worldwide, collaborating with artists from Bollywood to
Hollywood.
