A serious altercation between senior aides of Karnataka’s top political leaders has sparked controversy, with allegations of physical assault surfacing at Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi. H Anjaneya, special officer to Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, has formally accused C Mohan Kumar, special officer to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, of attacking him with a shoe during a heated confrontation.

The incident reportedly occurred within the office premises and was witnessed by others, according to Anjaneya’s complaint. Addressed to resident commissioner Imkongla Jamir, the letter described the act as an attack on his personal dignity and called for criminal proceedings against Kumar. “I was beaten with a shoe… this has hurt my honour,” Anjaneya stated.

Jamir confirmed receipt of the complaint dated July 22 and assured that the matter will be handled through proper channels. Anjaneya, a Group-B officer, further claimed that Kumar has been intentionally obstructing his duties and creating a hostile work environment. He also expressed fear for his safety and insisted that any incident in future should hold Kumar accountable.

The letter also referenced Kumar’s alleged history of misconduct, stating he had assaulted another officer, MM Joshi, in the past and routinely disrespects senior staff. Anjaneya noted that he had earlier requested a transfer to avoid continued conflict while serving in the sensitive post tied to the deputy chief minister’s office.
