Congress leader Ashok Chavan on Saturday said that the logo of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) is expected to unveil on August 31.
Former Maharashtra CM Chavan said that approximately 26 to 27 political parties will be in attendance during the third gathering of the recently established opposition coalition scheduled for August 31 in Mumbai.
"Around 26 to 27 parties will participate in the meeting. An informal gathering will be held on the evening of August 31 in Mumbai and a formal meeting on September 1," he said while speaking at a press conference in Mumbai.
He further revealed, "So far, two meetings have been organised so in this third meeting the next agenda will be discussed. We are deciding to make a common logo and it may get unveiled on August 31."
In a previous statement, Congress Leader PL Punia conveyed that the decisions regarding the selection of the candidates for the Prime Ministerial post within the INDIA bloc will be made following the alliance's success in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He said, "The elected MPs will choose the PM.”
The 'Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance' (INDIA)is a coalition consisting of 26 opposition parties, with the Congress among them. Their objective is to contest against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), headed by Prime Minister Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
They aim to stop the NDA from securing a third consecutive term in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This alliance is seen as a strategic move to provide a strong opposition force in Indian politics.
The joint opposition's first gathering occurred in Patna, Bihar, on June 23, with the second meeting convened in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on July 17-18.
The upcoming third meeting is scheduled to take place in Mumbai, Maharashtra, from August 31 to September 1.
