In a recent cricket warm-up match, Pakistan faced a distressing incident involving a racial slur. During the live broadcast, an offensive term appeared in the ticker, aimed at Pakistanis, stirring immediate controversy. This unfortunate event occurred as the game unfolded between Pakistan and the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra.

The contentious term, a derogatory abbreviation displayed after Pakistan's acronym 'PAK,' drew attention from viewers and cricket journalist Danny Saeed. Saeed brought the issue to light on 'X,' a prominent social media platform. The use of this term, considered insulting to people from Pakistan and the broader Asian continent, immediately sparked an uproar.

Cricket Australia, upon recognizing the blunder, promptly released a statement addressing the matter. CA acknowledged that the graphic displaying the offensive term originated from a new data feed not previously used for Pakistan games. The organization expressed regret for the incident and clarified that the error was rectified manually as soon as it was identified.

Amidst the controversy, Pakistan's skipper Shan Masood stood out with an exceptional double century, showcasing dominance throughout his innings. However, aside from Masood, the team struggled to capitalize on the batting conditions offered at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Only a few players—Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Abdullah Shafique—showed resilience against the PMXI's bowling attack.

The game also witnessed a stellar performance by Jordan Buckingham, who impressed with a five-wicket haul. Buckingham's skillful bowling secured crucial wickets, including those of Imam, Babar, and Sarfaraz, contributing significantly to the PMXI's performance.
