The revising committee of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) recently viewed the much-anticipated film 'OMG 2', starring Akshay Kumar. The screening was graced by the presence of the CBFC chairperson, Prasoon Joshi. According to exclusive information obtained by ETimes, the committee has recommended an adult certificate for the film, along with approximately 20 cuts. However, as of now, the official show-cause notice is yet to be dispatched to the film's producers in response to these suggestions.
OMG 2', scheduled for a release on August 11, encountered a peculiar situation when the song release happened after the CBFC's executive committee watched the film, but the release date was mysteriously omitted from it. With a mere 16 days remaining until the scheduled release, the crucial decision regarding the movie's theatrical date now rests in the hands of Akshay Kumar. Unfortunately, the actor is currently overseas, adding to the complexity of the matter. As a consequence of this unexpected controversy, the promotional campaign for 'OMG 2' is expected to suffer some setbacks."
Despite several attempts made to obtain confirmation on the suggested A certification and numerous cuts from the Censor Board, they remained unavailable for comment. Additionally, the makers of the film were also approached for their response, but up until the time of publishing this story, no official statement was received.
Directed by Amit Rai, 'OMG 2' boasts a stellar cast including Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam Dhar. The film is said to be a spiritual sequel to the 2012 release 'OMG - Oh My God!'.
