In a tragic accident in Dehradun, six young students, including three women, lost their lives early Tuesday morning when their speeding car collided with a container truck at ONGC Chowk. One survivor, 25-year-old Siddhesh Agrawal, is in critical condition with severe head injuries. The police, lacking formal complaints from the victims' families, are consulting legal experts on potential actions, as initial investigations suggest the truck driver was not at fault.

The accident involved an Innova car crashing into the rear of the truck around 1:30 am. Inspector KC Bhatt from Cantt police station stated that without complaints, registering a case remains pending. Circle Officer Neeraj Semwal reported that all six deceased were under 25 years of age, with five from Dehradun and one from Chamba. CCTV footage revealed that the car had been moving at a moderate speed before abruptly accelerating at the ONGC intersection, leading to the collision.

The police highlighted that the vehicle’s owner, who was driving, died in the crash, complicating potential legal responsibility as he cannot be held accountable posthumously. They are evaluating next steps under the current legal framework. Meanwhile, Siddhesh Agrawal remains hospitalized and unable to provide a statement.
