Ten months post her triumphant win on Netflix's "Squid Game: The Challenge," Mai Whelan, the victorious contender, remains in anticipation of her cash prize. Despite clinching victory amidst a grueling series of eliminations against 455 other competitors, the much-awaited reward hasn't found its way to her.

As per a report by the Sunday Times, Mai Whelan shared her feelings, drawing a comparison to Tom Cruise's character in "Jerry Maguire." She reminisced about splurging some of her anticipated winnings on a new appearance for the Squid Game gala, detailing a transformative journey inclusive of a stylish haircut, a Ralph Lauren outfit, and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Acknowledging a lingering sense of regret over these expenditures, Whelan justified, "I still have buyer’s remorse from that, but I think it’s well-deserved." The Virginian victor expressed aspirations of securing a retirement abode in an undisclosed location, emphasizing contentment with her current tranquil waterfront dwelling.

Furthermore, Whelan said of bigger viewpoints, "I think those are very important to how we see the world so that we can live in it and enjoy it for everybody, not just us at the moment."

Whelan's victory was sealed by a final game of Rock, Paper, Scissors with fellow contestant Phill, which left her divided between tears and applause. "I'm not sure whether to cry or cheer." "I don't know what to do," she said to Phill, expressing her confusion.

For viewers eager to relive Season 1, the entire series of Squid Game: The Challenge is available for streaming on Netflix. Furthermore, recruitment for the upcoming Season 2 is now accessible through quidGameCasting.com, inviting new contenders to step into the intense competition.
