Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, has made an announcement stating that each family affected by the recent floods in the city will receive a compensation of ₹10,000. This decision is a response to the significant losses suffered by numerous impoverished families residing near the Yamuna River, some of whom have lost all their belongings. Kejriwal took to Twitter to communicate this financial assistance, emphasizing its purpose in providing support to those impacted by the floods. Furthermore, special camps will be established to cater to individuals who have lost essential documents like Aadhaar cards during the calamity. Additionally, students who have lost their school uniforms and books as a result of the floods will be provided with replacements.

Kejriwal personally visited a flood relief camp in Mori Gate, North Delhi, to assess the situation and extend assistance to the victims. He expressed the intention to expedite the drying process in flood-affected areas by filling them with dry soil. The government is actively exploring various avenues to offer ad hoc relief and compensation to individuals affected by the floods, aiming to alleviate their hardships.

In another tweet, Kejriwal informed the public that the Chandrawal Water Treatment Plant has been reactivated. This measure aims to restore a water supply of 105 million gallons per day to several assembly constituencies, including Rajinder Nagar, Karol Bagh, Ballimaran, Chandni Chowk, Patel Nagar, Palam Vihar, Delhi Cantt, and areas under the jurisdiction of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). This step seeks to address the water scarcity issues caused by the floods and provide much-needed relief to the affected regions.
