A government school teacher in Karnataka's Shivamogga district has been transferred following accusations of making communal remarks towards Muslim students.
The incident, which occurred during a heated exchange, has prompted an investigation into the teacher's behavior.
Manjula Devi, who has been teaching Kannada at the school for over nine years, allegedly told some students to 'go to Pakistan.'
The matter came to light when Muslim students formally lodged a complaint against her for her remarks.
While there is no concrete proof of the alleged statement, Block Education Officer P Nagraj confirmed that action was taken based on the students' complaints.
This incident is not an isolated case. In a similar incident in Delhi, four students from a government school have accused their teacher, Hema Gulati of Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, of questioning them about their families not moving to Pakistan during the Partition.
In response to these allegations, the Delhi Police have registered a case against Gulati.
The allegations against both teachers highlight the importance of maintaining a respectful and non-discriminatory environment in educational institutions.
