As the auspicious occasion of Magh Kalashtami approaches in 2024, devotees of Lord Shiva are gearing up for a spiritually enriching experience. Falling on February 2, 2024, the Ashtami Tithi for Magh Kalashtami begins at 04:02 PM and concludes at 05:20 PM on February 3, 2024.

This significant celebration is dedicated to the worship of Kaal Bhairav, a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva, and is observed on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha each month. Magh Kalashtami holds immense religious importance, particularly for followers of Lord Shiva. Kaal Bhairav is revered as the deity of Tantra-mantra, and devotees believe that worshiping him with utmost devotion can protect them from untimely death and ward off the malefic effects of Saturn and Rahu.

Devotees engage in various rituals on Magh Kalashtami to seek the blessings of Lord Kaal Bhairav. The day is marked by traditional fasting, abstaining from grains, and following specific observances (niyams) such as avoiding meat, alcohol, and negative thoughts. The worship involves Kalashtami puja, where prayers are offered to Lord Bhairava, seeking protection, removal of obstacles, and fulfillment of desires.

A crucial ritual during the puja is the abhishek, where devotees pour water mixed with milk, honey, and panchamrit over the deity. Lighting diyas and chanting mantras dedicated to Lord Bhairava are integral aspects of the puja, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere.
