Dublin, Ireland, chaos erupted post a knife attack near a school, sparking
violent clashes and protests on Thursday evening. Rioters clashed fiercely with
law enforcement, igniting turmoil and torching vehicles in central Dublin. The
incident injured five individuals, including three children, amplifying
tensions in the city.
The clashes unfolded primarily around O'Connell Street and Parnell Square East, where protesters hurled projectiles and incendiary devices at police officers. Extensive damage was reported, with several police vehicles and public transport, including a tram and buses, affected during the unrest.

Dublin
witnessed heightened security measures, with over 400 officers, many in riot
gear, deployed to control the escalating situation. Security cordons were
placed around significant locations like Leinster House, and additional support
units were stationed in strategic areas.
The
chaos also saw vandalism, and looting, and disrupted public transport services,
prompting numerous businesses to advise their employees to work remotely the
following day. Amidst the turmoil, authorities appealed for calm, cautioning
against spreading misinformation and emphasizing the need for restraint.
The
clashes followed an earlier knife assault near the school, resulting in
injuries to multiple individuals, including children. Police investigations are
ongoing, and despite the severity of the incident, it's not being treated as a
terror-related attack, as confirmed by Irish authorities.
