In
an eagerly awaited move, the Dhanush-starrer, "Captain
Miller," is gearing up for its OTT premiere, following a triumphant
theatrical run. Scheduled to grace Amazon Prime Video on February 9, the film
boasts an ensemble cast featuring Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Nassar,
Priyanka Mohan, and Nivedhithaa Sathish in pivotal roles. The official
announcement on Friday by Amazon Prime Video set the stage for the digital
release, intriguingly stating, "What makes a soldier go rogue? The answer
lies in Miller’s journey."
Penned
and directed by Arun Matheswaran, this high-budget Tamil action entertainer
marks the maiden collaboration between Dhanush, the National award-winning
actor, and the acclaimed 'Rocky' director. Set against the backdrop of the
1930s and 1940s, the narrative unravels the complexities of Miller's character,
offering a riveting cinematic experience.
As per the latest Box Office Report shared by Sacnilk, "Captain Miller" raked in an impressive nearly Rs 70 crore at the box office, with the Tamil version significantly contributing to this success. The film's overseas collections reached Rs 16 crore, while it amassed Rs 53.8 crore within India. However, the Hindi version struggled to make an impact, earning a modest Rs 3.09 crore.

The
film, released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, features notable actors such as Nivedhithaa
Sathish, John Kokken, and Moor in pivotal roles. Renowned dialogue writer
Madhan Karky, known for his work on blockbuster films like the Baahubali
franchise, RRR, and Pushpa, lent his expertise to the Tamil version. Shiva
Rajkumar, a prominent figure in the Kannada film industry, portrays Dhanush's
elder brother in a compelling subplot.
Adding to the film's allure, GV Prakash Kumar composed both the songs and the original score, elevating the cinematic experience. The production, helmed by Sathya Jyothi Films, has successfully captured the essence of a gripping period drama, captivating audiences across language barriers.
