An explosion at a café in South Kolkata's Jodhpur Park on Wednesday resulted in one person sustaining injuries. The incident occurred around midday, causing significant damage to the establishment. According to local municipal councillor Mousumi Das, the injured individual, an employee at the café, was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.

The explosion blew off the café's shutter and shattered the windows, initially leading to suspicions of an LPG cylinder blast. However, the exact cause of the explosion remains undetermined, and authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the source and nature of the blast.

Councillor Das, who was at the scene, described the immediate chaos following the explosion and highlighted the urgency with which the injured worker was attended to. The incident has raised concerns about safety protocols in local eateries, prompting a thorough review by municipal and safety officials.
