Witnesses, including Mayor Micah Powell, observed the balloon's material straight up before the catastrophic crash.

The victims' identities remain undisclosed, pending notification of their families. Eyewitness accounts detailed the material's vertical descent and the significant impact upon landing. Unfortunately, details about the balloon's flight plan, take-off point, and destination are currently unavailable.

The NTSB and FAA, present at the crash site, are interviewing witnesses and analyzing video footage to reconstruct the events leading up to the tragedy.
