In a heart-wrenching incident in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, an unidentified motorist faces legal action as an FIR has been registered for the unfortunate death of a puppy. The incident, which occurred in the upscale Greater Tirupati Colony, was captured on a viral video that surfaced a week after the tragedy.

The distressing video showcased a group of puppies, including the victim, playing on a road near Jamna Apartment. Despite the mother dog's attempt to move her offspring away, a car approached without applying brakes, resulting in the tragic demise of one of the puppies. The incident spotlights the significance of responsible driving and prompt actions in such situations.

The FIR was filed based on CCTV footage obtained from a camera outside the Jamna Apartment. Priyanshu Jain, a resident of Indore associated with PETA India, registered the complaint. The FIR cites Section 429 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, and Section 11 of The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act, 1960, reflecting the severity of the case.

PETA member Sunayana Basu commended the Indore police for taking swift action, emphasizing the need to discourage careless driving and the abandonment of animals. The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the consequences of negligence on the road and the importance of ensuring the safety of both humans and animals. The tragic event not only triggered legal proceedings but also ignited a broader conversation about responsible driving and compassion towards animals. The FIR sends a powerful message that such incidents will not be tolerated, fostering awareness about the shared responsibility of creating a safe environment for all living beings.
