Flights diverted as a part of airport ceiling collapses in Guwahati because of heavy rain

Due to an unforeseen storm and intense rainfall on Sunday, a portion of the roof outside the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, Assam, fell.
A ceiling tile fell, forcing airport officials at the Adani Group-managed airport to temporarily suspend operations and reroute six planes. The incident caused the ceiling to fall, although no casualties were reported.
Since it was caught on camera, the incident has gained widespread attention on social media. It showed travellers and airport officials scrambling for cover when a portion of the ceiling fell suddenly. Additional footage showed workers at the airport attempting to remove the extra water.
Utpal Baruah, Chief Airport Officer,stated tothe news agency that the storm had triggered a huge tree at the Oil India area, outer side of the airport to be uprooted. The storm also caused a route to be shut.
It was so old that the force of the impact caused it to collapse. Water began to seep into the building below as a result of the ceiling collapsing. He did, however, stress that everything is under control and that there have been no confirmed injuries.
Baruah added that water may enter the terminal through the ceiling.

In order to make sure that passengers do not experience any type of inconvenience, staffs are monitoring the situation personally. Moreover, visibility was tremendously low because of the storm and heavy rain, so six aircraft had been rerouted.
Conversely, Air India Express is currently operating flights from Agartala and Kolkata that were originally scheduled to take off from those locations.
On the other hand, as soon as the weather cleared, operations resumed and aircraft began landing at the Guwahati airport.
