Man Assaulted for Accompanying Woman to Job Interview, Two Arrested

Virendra Zeenadatta Jain was assaulted in Sirsi after accompanying a woman to a job interview. The suspects, Shakeel Ahmed and Muhammad Maz, were arrested, while Ubed Savanur remains at large. The attack followed a confrontation after the interview, and an FIR was filed under various sections of the law.
A 21-year-old man, Virendra Zeenadatta Jain, was assaulted near Shivaji Chowk in Sirsi, Uttar Kannada district on Wednesday after accompanying a woman to a job interview. The woman, a job applicant, and Jain were verbally abused and physically attacked by three men from the local minority community. The assailants kicked Jain and struck him with stones.
Following the incident, two suspects, Shakeel Ahmed and Muhammad Maz, were arrested, while the third, Ubed Savanur, remains at large. Police said the altercation began after Jain and the woman stopped for ice cream following the interview. The suspects questioned their relationship before launching the attack.

An FIR was filed against the accused under various sections, including wrongful restraint, voluntary causing hurt, and intentional insult. Jain and the woman were acquaintances, with Jain having previously helped the woman find a job. He works as a security guard at Sirsi Rotary Hospital.
