Autumn Bardisa, 29, was arrested in Florida for allegedly posing as a nurse and treating over 4,400 patients without a license. Investigators say she used another person’s license number. She faces multiple charges of medical fraud and remains in custody on a $70,000 bond.

A 29-year-old Florida woman, Autumn Bardisa, has been arrested for allegedly posing as a registered nurse and treating more than 4,400 patients without proper credentials. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office released bodycam footage showing her arrest, which took place in her car. Authorities have charged her with seven counts of practicing a health care profession without a license and seven counts of fraudulent use of personal identification information. She is currently being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on a $70,000 bond.

Bardisa began working at AdventHealth on July 3, 2023, as an advanced tech nurse. During her hiring process, she reportedly claimed to be a registered nurse, saying she had completed the required schooling and passed the national exam, even providing a license number. She explained a mismatch in her name by saying she had recently married.

Suspicion arose when Bardisa was considered for a promotion, prompting a colleague to check her credentials. The inquiry revealed that her certified nursing assistant license had expired and that the license number she provided belonged to another person with the same first name. Following the discovery, she was terminated in January 2025.

The hospital later contacted law enforcement, leading to a criminal investigation. Sheriff Rick Staly described the case as one of the most disturbing instances of medical fraud his department has handled, stressing that Bardisa’s actions put thousands of lives at risk and undermined trust in the medical community. Authorities credit the arrest to coordinated efforts between detectives, the State Attorney’s Office, and federal partners.
