Former Governor of J-K summoned by CBI: Congress claims 'We saw it coming!’

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reportedly sent a notice to the former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik, to appear for questioning regarding corruption allegations. According to sources, the CBI has asked Malik to appear for questioning on April 27th and 28th. The agency is said to be investigating corruption cases related to Malik's tenure as the Governor of the state.

Sources suggest that the CBI is particularly interested in irregularities in two projects in Jammu and Kashmir. Two cases have already been registered in this regard during Malik's tenure as the Governor. The questioning is expected to take place at a guest house on Akbar Road.

In October 2021, Satyapal Malik claimed that he was offered a bribe of Rs. 300 crores to clear a file related to an RSS leader. Following this, an investigation was launched and a case was registered against unknown persons. Satyapal Malik had previously been questioned in October 2020 regarding this matter.
