Ganja and Gold Seized by Odisha and Telangana, and West Bengal

Based on credible information, the police officers from Sileru Police Station apprehended four individuals during a vehicle inspection. These individuals were arrested for unlawfully transporting 901 kg of ganja in a van from Orissa to Vijayawada within the jurisdiction of the Chintalapudi Sub Division, Sileru Police Station. The seized ganja is valued at approximately Rs 1 crore in the international market. The Andhra Pradesh Police are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
N. Narsimha Reddy, the ADCP of Madhapur Zone in Cyberabad, reported that on August 25th, the Special Operations Team (SOT) from Balanagar Zone, in collaboration with the Chandanagar Police Station team, apprehended two dry ganja peddlers. These individuals were caught transporting approximately 90 kg of dry ganja from Orissa to Hyderabad through the DTDC courier services. The seized dry ganja is valued at approximately Rs 30 lakhs. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is currently in progress.
In West Bengal, alert personnel from the ICP Petrapole, 145 Battalion under the South Bengal Frontier, caught a smuggler with 45 gold biscuits weighing 5.24 kg, valued at Rs 3.07 crores. The smuggler was attempting to transport these gold biscuits in an empty truck returning to India from Bangladesh. The detained smuggler, along with the confiscated gold, has been delivered to the Custom Office in Kolkata for subsequent legal proceedings, according to the Border Security Force.
