Google has introduced exciting new features and
improvements to its AI chatbot, Bard. According to Sundar Pichai's tweet, Bard
now incorporates implicit code execution, which enables it to run code in the
background when encountering computational prompts. This advancement enhances
Bard's accuracy in solving word and math problems by approximately 30%. The
chatbot has also gained the ability to respond more accurately to string
manipulation, coding questions, and mathematical operations.
Google's approach to enhancing Bard's
capabilities takes inspiration from the "System 1" and "System
2" thinking described in Daniel Kahneman's book, "Thinking, Fast and
Slow." By combining the strengths of Large Language Models (System 1) and
traditional code (System 2), Bard's reasoning and math abilities have
significantly improved. In internal challenge datasets, the accuracy of Bard's
responses to computation-based problems has seen an impressive 30% increase.
In addition to these updates, Google has
introduced a new export feature for Bard, allowing users to export the tables
created in Bard's responses directly to Google Sheets. This feature provides
users with greater convenience in managing and analyzing the information
generated by Bard.
These enhancements showcase Google's commitment
to advancing AI technology and providing users with an engaging and accurate
chatbot experience. With improved logic and reasoning skills, Bard continues to
evolve as a powerful AI assistant for users worldwide.
