The Congress on August 26 claimed that the government issued emergency orders to micro-blogging site X, asking them to block the video of Muzaffarnagar's Neha Public School where a teacher asked Hindu students to slap a Muslim kid.

As per Congress leader Supriya Shrinate, the government also issued additional orders to block more URLs and hashtags about arresting the teacher.

''Last night the Govt of India issued emergency orders to Twitter to block video of the child being slapped upon the insistence of his teacher,'' Shrinate tweeted.

It is worth mentioning that a shocking video clip from Neha Public School in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, has ignited a firestorm of controversy and calls for action, as a teacher's alleged discriminatory actions were caught on camera.

The incident, now a topic of heated debate, took a political turn as the Opposition accused the government of blocking the video's spread on social media platforms.

In the video, a teacher named Tripta Tyagi is seen purportedly encouraging Hindu students to slap a fellow Muslim student. The video went viral, triggering widespread condemnation from celebrities and public figures.

The teacher, Tyagi, later defended herself, claiming that the viral video was edited and misinterpreted. She stated that her intention was to discipline the Muslim student, who had not been completing his homework for the past two months.

Tyagi also revealed that she is handicapped and could not physically discipline the student herself, leading her to ask classmates to take disciplinary action.

However, the incident escalated as Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge weighed in. Gandhi called the incident a consequence of the alleged hatred spread by the BJP, while Kharge criticized the teacher's actions as a reflection of divisive politics. On the other side, BJP's Amit Malviya blamed a 'cabal' for exploiting the incident for political gains and emphasized that the student was disciplined as the teacher was physically unable to do so.
