In a recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) encounter, Hawk-Eye, the renowned Decision Review System (DRS) provider, publicly acknowledged an operational error, issuing a formal apology to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This admission came following a contentious moment during the eighth match of PSL season 9, sparking widespread debate among cricket enthusiasts.

According to a press release from the PCB, Hawk-Eye clarified that the erroneous display of ball tracking data resulted from a procedural oversight. The company underscored that had standard protocols have been adhered to, the correct data would have promptly superseded the inaccurate information aired during the broadcast.

Hawk-Eye, as the sole International Cricket Council (ICC)-approved DRS vendor, occupies a pivotal role in cricket officiating, leaving cricket boards with no viable alternative.
