Himachal Education Minister Plans Recall of Teachers and Officers on Deputation

Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur announced that teachers and officers on deputation to other states will soon return. He also outlined reforms such as student exposure visits, shifting college buildings to vacant schools, and introducing biometric attendance in schools across the state.

Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur announced that teachers and officers currently deputed to other states will soon be recalled to their home state. Notices will be issued, and they will be posted in Himachal Pradesh as soon as possible. The minister also discussed plans to set standards for sending top-performing students from classes X and XII on exposure trips across India and abroad, including students excelling in sports and cultural activities.

In a recent meeting with the education department, Thakur outlined various decisions aimed at improving the state’s education system. These include moving rented college buildings to vacant school structures and promoting exposure visits for meritorious teachers. The minister further emphasized the need for better coordination among the different wings of the Education Department to ensure effective implementation of corrective measures for improving student performance, as highlighted in the National Achievement Survey.

Thakur also addressed the issue of teacher attendance, stating that biometric systems will soon be implemented across all 15,000 schools in the state, with online attendance for students being rolled out in phases. Additionally, discussions were held on introducing new subjects in schools and setting criteria for teacher awards.
