IMD: Yellow Alert for Various Districts in Maharashtra along with Heavy Downpour in MP and Gujarat for Friday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that there will be heavy rain in some parts of Western India like Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat over the next three days. They've also warned people in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nashik districts in Maharashtra to be prepared for rain on Friday.

IMD in a post on 'X' said, "Western #Madhya Pradesh, #Maharashtra & #Gujarat to Face Heavy Downpour in next 3 days,". 

The weather experts have forecasted that there will be light to moderate rainfall along with moderate to severe thunderstorms in various areas including northern Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.

According to the IMD's recent satellite images, they have spotted clouds that could lead to occasional intense rainfall, along with moderate to severe thunderstorms and lightning in parts of Northwest Uttar Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, South Bihar, North Maharashtra, Gujarat Region, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the night.

Mumbai has been experiencing heavy rainfall since Thursday morning, and more rain is expected at night, according to the Meteorological Office.

The rainfall in Mumbai since 0830 hrs IST has been significant, with Santacruz receiving 92.5 mm, Colaba 43.6 mm, Dahisar 71.0 mm, Juhu 84.0 mm, Rammandir 88.0 mm, Matunga 75.5 mm, and Sion 75.2 mm. The IMD anticipates that there will be light to moderate rainfall in Mumbai during the nighttime.

On Thursday, the weather office also predicted light to moderate rainfall in various parts of India, including Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sikkim, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana.
