India's Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, asserted that India is prepared to cross the Line of Control (LoC) in order to uphold its honor and dignity. He urged civilians to stand by the soldiers in this endeavor. Drawing upon the Russia-Ukraine war as an example, Singh highlighted the significance of civilian involvement, which had prolonged the war.

Speaking at the Kargil War Memorial on the 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Singh paid homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1999 Kargil war. He emphasized that the conflict was forced upon India, stating that the nation was betrayed by Pakistan.

Singh acknowledged the indirect support provided by the public during war situations and urged them to be prepared for direct support on the battlefield if the situation demanded it. Reiterating India's commitment to maintaining the country's honor and dignity, he expressed readiness to cross the LoC if necessary.

The Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorates India's victory over Pakistan during the war. It serves as a reminder of the valiant efforts made by the Indian Army to reclaim strategic heights in Ladakh that were stealthily occupied by Pakistani forces in 1999.
