In an impressive display of skill and determination, Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, continues its winning streak. With eight consecutive victories in the ongoing World Cup, they have secured the top spot in the points table. Their latest triumph against South Africa saw them posting a commanding 327 runs at Kolkata's Eden Gardens, followed by a remarkable bowling performance that restricted South Africa to a mere 83 runs, resulting in a resounding 243-run victory.

This exceptional win also saw India matching Sri Lanka's long-standing World Cup record. Just like Sri Lanka did in the 2007 World Cup, India has now bowled out their opponents for totals below 100 twice in the same edition. India's dominant display against South Africa echoed their earlier ruthless performance against Sri Lanka, creating parity with the 16-year-old record.

Back in 2007, the Lankan Lions achieved this feat during the World Cup in the West Indies. They dismissed Bermuda for a paltry 78 runs after posting 321 runs in the league stage. In the Super Eight round, they replicated this success against Ireland, bundling them out for just 77 runs while bowling first. This historic achievement marked the first instance of a team dismissing the opposition twice in a single World Cup edition.

Team India's current form is nothing short of exceptional, instilling confidence as they head into the semifinals. Their eyes are now on the performance of New Zealand and Pakistan, the teams vying for the fourth position in the table, who are likely to face India in the semifinal showdown. With this level of performance, India is poised for an exciting and competitive journey in the remainder of the tournament.
