In the case concerning the tragic demise of Jaahnavi Kandula, the Indian Embassy based in the United States has escalated its efforts to ensure justice for the deceased student. Recently, the embassy raised concerns regarding the decision made by US prosecutors not to pursue criminal charges against the Seattle police officer involved in the incident. The embassy emphasized the need for a comprehensive review of the case and expressed its solidarity with Jaahnavi Kandula's family in their pursuit of justice.

According to the Indian Embassy, discussions have been ongoing with designated family representatives, promising unwavering support throughout the legal process. As a result of these efforts, the case has been forwarded to the Seattle City Attorney’s office for further examination and review.
