Indian women’s junior hockey team reaches final of Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2023 in Japan.



In a remarkable feat, the Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team has made the nation proud by clinching the gold medal and scripting history.


The team, adorned by players Deepika Sorenge, Mahima Tete, and Ropani Kumari, emerged as champions in the final match of the Women's Junior Asia Cup Hockey 2023. They defeated South Korea with a scoreline of 2-1, marking their first-ever title triumph.


Bholanath Singh, the Secretary-General of Hockey India, and Hemant Soren, the President of Hockey Jharkhand, were present in Japan, where the tournament took place. In recognition of the team's achievement, Hockey India has announced a cash reward of two lakh rupees for each member of the Junior Indian Women's Hockey Team.


The showdown of the Junior Asia Cup Hockey tournament was held from June 2nd to June 11th at Kakamigahara in Japan. In a thrilling match on Sunday, the Indian Junior Women's team showcased their talent and determination, defeating South Korea 2-1 to claim the championship for the first time.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren also took to Twitter to extend his congratulations, saying, "Historic! Congratulations and best wishes to the Indian team for winning the Women's Junior Asia Cup for the first time. Many congratulations and cheers!"
