In a recent interview with Film Companion, Rani Mukerji acknowledged her preference for privacy compared to her husband, director-producer Aditya Chopra. She delved into their relationship's evolution and unveiled the secret to maintaining their marital spark. The couple, who married in 2014, is blessed with a daughter named Adira, born in 2015.
Rani Mukerji shared that she and Aditya Chopra still enjoy watching movies together. She expressed, "Adi and I find our best moments when we go for a movie outing. Every Friday, we follow this ritual at YRF (Yash Raj Films studio) in Mumbai. However, when we're abroad, we explore cinemas everywhere. It's a beautiful feeling to hold hands and enjoy the experience. Standing in line, purchasing tickets, grabbing popcorn – it's all so enjoyable. These days you even have pizza, which is a great addition. Good food, a movie, and the whole experience – it's wonderful."
Furthermore, Rani shed light on how she maintains the allure in her marriage with Aditya. During the same interview, she stated, "The intriguing aspect of relationships is surprising your partner daily, and I manage to astonish Adi every day. He witnesses a new version of me each day, uncertain of what's in store. He's like, 'I can't predict what's coming today.' That's a good thing. He's genuinely quite helpless and straightforward. Simplicity can be monotonous, so I prefer to keep him... He's perpetually thinking, 'What's going to happen today?' He tells me, 'For me, it's like flipping to a new channel every day. One day it's comedy, another day it's drama. One day, it's action.' Of course, there are romantic days too. It's akin to a distinct movie every day; it's delightful."
Rani's most recent appearance was in Ashima Chibber's "Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway." Featuring Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta, and Jim Sarbh, the movie revolves around an actual incident involving an Indian couple whose children were forcibly separated by Norwegian authorities in 2011. The film debuted in cinemas on March 17, 2023.
