The IDF launched retaliatory strikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon amid escalating tensions. Cross-border skirmishes intensified, with rockets fired and concerns of a broader conflict. Defense Minister Gallant emphasized active defense measures, aiming to restore security along the Lebanon-Israel border amidst ongoing clashes.
The
Israel Defence Forces (IDF) responded forcefully on Sunday to repeated attacks
by Hezbollah on its troops in northern Israel. Striking Hezbollah targets in
southern Lebanon, including a military compound and observation posts, the IDF
claimed to destroy threats and prevent further attacks. The military also
reported a drone strike on a Hezbollah cell preparing for another assault.
The previous day saw an Israeli drone allegedly firing missiles at an aluminum plant near Nabatiyeh in southern Lebanon, causing a blaze. Though the IDF did not confirm the strikes, no casualties were reported. Opinions in the Washington Post suggested Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu contemplated a preemptive strike against Hezbollah amid rising concerns over Iran's influence.

Cross-border
tensions heightened as Hezbollah launched an anti-tank missile attack, injuring
four Israelis. A subsequent rocket barrage set off alarms in Sassa and Shtula.
Rockets fired from Lebanon targeted Kiryat Shmona and border posts. Last week's
anti-tank missile attack near the Lebanon-Israel border wounded 21, including
civilians and IDF personnel, intensifying clashes.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, during a visit to northern Israel, affirmed the IDF's commitment to active defense, striking Hezbollah targets to restore border security. He acknowledged the ongoing assaults but emphasized the goal of ensuring northern residents' safety. Daily Hezbollah attacks persisted, resulting in civilian and military casualties on both sides, underscoring the region's volatile situation.
