On September 3rd, Baramulla Police took significant action by apprehending two individuals identified as Over Ground Workers (OGWs) affiliated with the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Both of them were residents of Sheeri in Baramulla. During the arrest, law enforcement recovered a Chinese Pistol along with its magazine, as well as a hand grenade from these individuals.
What's particularly concerning is that these individuals confessed to being in constant communication with LeT handlers, who are based in Pakistan. They disclosed that they had been actively passing sensitive information to these handlers, which could potentially pose a severe threat to security forces and civilian safety.
The most alarming revelation was that they were
on the verge of transitioning from OGWs to full-fledged terrorists. Their
intentions were to carry out attacks on security forces and engage in targeted
killings. This underscores the critical role played by vigilant law enforcement
in preventing potential acts of terror and maintaining peace and security in
the region.
