Vice President JD Vance warned Elon Musk against forming a third political party, urging him to stay loyal to Donald Trump and the Republican base. Vance argued that Musk’s influence would be more effective from within the GOP, warning that a new party could divide the conservative vote.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance has advised Elon Musk against forming a third political party, urging the billionaire to remain aligned with former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party’s MAGA movement. Speaking on Fox News' The Ingraham Angle, Vance stressed that Musk’s influence would be greater within the party rather than outside of it.
“My advice to Elon would be to try to fix the Republican Party,” Vance said, adding that while disagreements with Trump or GOP leaders are acceptable, trying to launch a new political movement would be counterproductive. He emphasized that Musk’s ideas, such as law and order, closed borders, and economic growth, already align closely with conservative values.
Vance’s remarks come in response to reports that Musk had paused his efforts to launch the “America Party” to focus on his business ventures, though his allies have not ruled out a future political move. According to The Wall Street Journal, Musk’s political action committee, America PAC, had spent around $300 million supporting Trump and other Republicans during the 2024 elections.
Vance warned that Musk is now widely perceived as a figure on the American right and attempting to reposition himself politically would likely fail. He argued that influencing change from within the Republican Party is more realistic than trying to capture bipartisan support through a new platform.

The remarks reflect broader concerns within the GOP about potential fractures if influential figures like Musk attempt to splinter the conservative vote. Musk has previously clashed with Trump on legislative issues, but remains a powerful voice in Republican circles, both financially and ideologically.
