Joint Operation in Rajouri Leads to Terror Module Bust: Two Arrested

In a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police, a terror module was disrupted in Rajouri. Two hardcore terrorist associates were arrested, and significant ammunition, including a pistol, grenades, and rounds, were seized. The operation showcased successful collaboration in countering potential threats.

In a significant development in Jammu and Kashmir, security forces comprising the Indian Army and the state's police executed a coordinated operation in Rajouri district, resulting in the dismantling of a terror module. The joint effort, conducted on Wednesday in the Budhal area, culminated in the arrest of two hardcore terrorist associates, namely Mohd Farooq and Mohd Nazir.

According to the Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO), the operation yielded substantial recoveries, including a pistol, two magazines, 28 bullets, two hand grenades, and various war-like materials. These seizures were a testament to the efficacy of the joint intelligence-driven initiative. Additionally, items such as clothing and a wire cutter were found in a nearby forest based on information divulged by the arrested associates.

Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, the Jammu-based Army PRO, highlighted the operation's significance in neutralizing a potentially threatening scenario. He emphasized that the apprehension of the two hardcore terrorist associates disrupted an active terror module. The success was attributed to the relentless intelligence-based collaboration between the Army and the police, showcasing their commitment to maintaining security in the region.

The arrest of Mohd Farooq and Mohd Nazir occurred during a meticulous search and cordon operation conducted in Behrote village within the Budhal area. This development stands as a testament to the ongoing efforts of security forces in curbing and preempting nefarious activities in sensitive regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
