In response to the National Film Awards announced on Thursday evening, Kangana Ranaut extended her congratulations to all the winners. Additionally, she shared her thoughts on her own film "Thalaivii" not receiving any acknowledgment during the press event.
Sharing her sentiments on Instagram Stories, she penned, "Cheers to the #nationalawards2023 victors! This artistic fiesta unites creators from every corner of the nation, unveiling a realm of noteworthy endeavors spanning languages and genres. A truly enchanting experience delving into this tapestry of significant contributions."
She also spoke about her movie "Thalaivii" not getting any awards when they were announced. She said, "For those who are sad that my movie 'Thalaivii' didn't win any awards, please understand that I am thankful for what I got and didn't get. Those who really care about me should try to understand my perspective. Art is different for everyone, and I truly believe the jury tried their best. I wish everyone the best. Hare Krishna C2V," she added.
Debuting in 2021, Thalaivii hit the screens, chronicling the life and challenges of the late politician-actor and former Tamil Nadu chief minister, J Jayalalithaa. Portraying the lead character, Kangana brought the role to life, under the guidance of director A. L. Vijay and writer V. Vijayendra Prasad. However, the movie faced substantial setbacks both commercially and critically. Struggling to make its mark at the box office, Thalaivii received mixed feedback from reviewers. While Kangana's performance earned her accolades, the story and screenplay came under heavy scrutiny.
