These comments come as Ranaut prepares for the release of her self-directed film "Emergency," portraying Indira Gandhi during India's 1975 emergency period.

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has launched a scathing attack on Bollywood celebrities and industry parties, describing them as "shallow," "stupid," and "traumatic." In a recent podcast interview with Raj Shamani, Ranaut didn't hold back in her criticism of her peers and the film industry culture.

The actress painted a picture of celebrities' routines when not filming, describing it as a cycle of physical training, sleeping, and watching TV. She mimicked their party conversations, suggesting they revolve around superficial topics like branded bags, cars, diets, and relationship gossip.
"I'll be very shocked to find a decent person in Bollywood who can talk beyond branded bags or cars," Ranaut stated, adding that Bollywood parties are "like trauma" for her due to the perceived shallowness of the attendees.
Ranaut's comments have reignited discussions about the culture and values within the Hindi film industry. While her views are controversial, they align with her long-standing criticism of Bollywood's inner circles and practices.
The timing of these remarks is noteworthy, as Ranaut is preparing for the release of her upcoming film "Emergency," which she has also directed. Set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024, the movie explores the period of emergency rule in India during 1975, with Ranaut portraying former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
As the release date approaches, it remains to be seen how Ranaut's outspoken critiques of the industry will impact the reception of her film and her standing within Bollywood.
