Kangana Ranaut Criticizes 'Distasteful' Media Coverage: 'Everyone I Encounter, Personally or Professionally, Recognizes My Excellence'

Kangana Ranaut

Actor Kangana Ranaut used Instagram Stories on Tuesday to post screenshots of 'distasteful and malicious' media articles branding her films as 'flops'. She vehemently criticized what she labeled a 'sponsored' onslaught, asserting that her films, often dubbed as flops, have indeed achieved considerable box office success. While Kangana expressed a lack of anger toward the 'film industry clique', she raised concerns about the incessant 'character defamation' carried out through paid media outlets. Furthermore, Kangana shared endorsements from those who collaborated with her, highlighting a stark contrast to the adverse media portrayal she has been subjected to.

In response to the prevailing 'propaganda' aimed at her, Kangana penned, "Without exception, individuals who become acquainted with me or collaborate alongside me express a unanimous sentiment: 'Why does such a distorted media narrative persist around you? You stand as the paragon of professionalism and excellence, whether as an actor, director, or artist.' This refrain is a daily occurrence, echoed by every individual I engage with, professionally or personally. Furthermore, those who collaborate with me are compelled to amplify their admiration through media channels. Yet, the unfounded propaganda only continues to swell in magnitude."

 'Distasteful'
Kangana Ranaut challenges the ongoing narrative of 'character defamation' and the adverse image propagated by the media.

In a different context, she penned, "I harbor no resentment towards the movie mafia. Instead, I contemplate the kind of affliction God must have bestowed upon them—living enveloped in unrelenting insecurity and anxiety. Can you fathom a life more akin to an unending torment? I scarcely even recollect their existence, except when the disheartening news of character defamation or calculated attempts to tarnish my career surface. My thoughts seldom traverse to them unless the onslaughts prove unbearably unjust. The ceaseless preoccupation they must have with me, how consuming that must be. If someone proclaimed that hatred could also be a form of love, their assertion wouldn't be entirely off the mark…"

Kangana has consistently accused filmmaker Karan Johar of endorsing nepotism within the film industry, often addressing him as the 'movie mafia' in her social media engagements and interviews. The actor frequently utilizes social media as a platform to express her opinions about Bollywood, actively engaging in the 'insider vs outsider' discourse.
