A Kanpur couple defrauded elderly citizens of ₹35 crore with a fake “Israel-made time machine,” claiming it could reverse aging. Police have documented 25 cases and are searching for the suspects. The scam involved charging ₹90,000 per session and operating a referral-based pyramid scheme.
In a shocking scam, a couple from Kanpur allegedly swindled ₹35 crore from elderly people by promising to reverse aging with a fake “Israel-made time machine.” The couple, Rajeev and Rashmi Dubey, operated a therapy center called ‘Revival World’ in Kidwai Nagar, where they lured victims with claims that their machine could restore youth through oxygen therapy. Many elderly individuals fell prey to the couple’s promises, believing the machine could undo the effects of aging caused by pollution in Kanpur.
Police have recorded 25 cases of fraud so far, with more victims expected to come forward. The couple charged ₹90,000 per session, further incentivizing victims to refer others by offering discounts, effectively creating a pyramid scheme. One victim, Renu Singh Chandel, filed a complaint after she was duped into referring others in exchange for a free session.
Authorities are currently searching for Rajeev and Rashmi Dubey, with airports on high alert to prevent their escape. ACP Anjali Vishwakarma has confirmed that efforts are underway to locate more victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
