UP Woman Allegedly Kills Blackmailer to Escape Abuse

A 32-year-old woman in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly choked her blackmailer to death after suffering years of sexual abuse and threats. She confessed to the crime, stating she had no other choice to protect herself and her family. The police are investigating the case.

A 32-year-old woman in Bareilly allegedly choked a man to death after enduring repeated sexual abuse and blackmail. The accused, a resident of Ghur Samsapur village, stated that she had no other choice but to act in self-defense to protect herself and her family.

According to her police statement, Iqbal, a zari-zardozi artisan, blackmailed her after secretly recording their phone conversations. He allegedly coerced her into a physical relationship under threat of exposing their interactions to her husband.

On January 29, after years of harassment, the woman devised a plan to confront Iqbal. She met him at his home late at night, where he again tried to get intimate. Seizing the opportunity, she overpowered him, covered his mouth, and choked him to death. She then dragged his body to the staircase before returning home.

The next morning, Iqbal’s wife discovered his body and reported the murder. The police launched an investigation, arrested the accused, and sent Iqbal’s body for a postmortem.
