In a surprising revelation on the latest episode of Koffee With Karan 8, it was disclosed that Kareena Kapoor had once vowed never to collaborate with acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The revelation has sparked curiosity among fans who were unaware of this intriguing past incident.

During Koffee With Karan 8, Ranveer Singh disclosed that Kareena Kapoor was initially cast for the role of Leela in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Ram Leela." However, she unexpectedly withdrew from the project just a week before shooting commenced, leading to Deepika Padukone's eventual selection. This newfound revelation on the popular chat show brought to light an old interview in which Kapoor explicitly expressed her reluctance to work with SLB.

Back in 2002, Kareena Kapoor candidly shared her experience with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in an interview with Filmfare. She revealed that Bhansali had initially chosen her for the role of Paro in "Devdas" and even provided her with a signing amount. However, she was later informed that Aishwarya Rai had been cast as the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

In the same interview, Kapoor revealed her tremendous animosity and sadness toward Bhansali. "I'll never," she answered emphatically. He did something terrible to me. He put me through a screen test for Devdas, gave me a signing bonus, and then hired someone else. That was terrible, and it stung much more because I was just starting out in my work. It's cool because I signed Yaadein the day he dumped me. Sanjay harmed me. I'll never work with him, even if I don't have any work."

However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in his defense, denied all the claims made by Kareena Kapoor. He clarified that he had never promised her a role in "Devdas." According to Bhansali, Kapoor had visited him at his residence along with Neeta Lulla and expressed her desire to work with him. He revealed that he had not seen her previous work and suggested conducting a few look tests. He also informed Kapoor's mother, Babita, and Karisma Kapoor that it was not a confirmation.

This revived controversy sheds light on a long-standing feud between Kareena Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali and raises questions about the dynamics of Bollywood's casting decisions.
