In a horrifying crime, a 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped and murdered by her elder sister’s husband and two others in Muzaffarnagar’s Budhana area. The accused later burned her body in an attempt to erase evidence, police reported on Saturday.

According to officials, the main accused, identified as Ashish, had been pressuring the victim to marry him. When she refused, he conspired with his accomplices to lure her away from home. The victim’s family had reported her missing on January 23.

Police stated that Ashish, along with two others, kidnapped the woman, gang-raped her, and then strangled her to death. The perpetrators later burned her body to cover up the crime.

Following the investigation, Ashish was arrested, and during interrogation, he admitted to the crime. Based on his confession, authorities recovered the victim’s charred remains, which have been sent for forensic examination. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining two suspects, who are currently absconding.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Satyanarayan Prajapat confirmed that strict action would be taken against all those involved. “The investigation is ongoing, and all accused will be brought to justice. No leniency will be shown in such a heinous crime,” he stated.

This shocking incident has sparked outrage in the region, with locals demanding swift justice for the victim. Authorities have assured that the case will be handled with urgency under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable laws.
