In a recent development, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating 'illegal' Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons. These summons, according to Kejriwal, aim to impede his upcoming Lok Sabha election campaigning. He made these claims on Thursday, attributing the move to prevent him from participating effectively in the impending polls.

Kejriwal asserted that the summons, related to the Delhi excise policy case, were intentionally designed to disrupt his campaign momentum. Refusing to comply with the third summons, he cited various reasons, including prior commitments such as Rajya Sabha polls and Republic Day arrangements. He also criticized the investigative agency for its lack of disclosure and responsiveness.

"The accusations against me are baseless; there's no corruption involved," Kejriwal emphasized. He alleged that the BJP's underlying motive is not an earnest inquiry but a deliberate effort to hinder his election campaign. According to him, the intention behind these summons isn't a genuine probe but a ploy to restrict his campaigning efforts for the Lok Sabha elections.

Kejriwal conveyed his willingness to cooperate with the Enforcement Directorate by responding to any questionnaire sent to him. However, he firmly stood against appearing before the ED, claiming the summons to be legally invalid. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also supported Kejriwal's stance, alleging that these summons were a pretext to arrest him.

"My commitment to the nation remains unwavering. They aim to tarnish my honesty, but I won't allow it," Kejriwal affirmed. Additionally, he suggested that all allegations would dissipate if members of AAP joined the BJP, insinuating a political conspiracy at play.
