In
their season opener, the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated SunRisers Hyderabad by
a little score of 4 runs.
Given that KKR scored 208 runs in total, beating them should have been simple. The game did, however, have a lot of exciting twists and turns, and everything hinged on the final ball.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad fielding trio of Pat Cummins, Aiden Markram, and Marco Jansen deserves special recognition for leading the attack. KKR were 51/4 after only 26 balls had been played in the game. Following that, Ramandeep Singh of KKR and Andre Russell began hitting consecutive fours and sixes without stopping. Following that, the Jamaican all-rounder and Rinku Singh combined for 81 runs. Their outstanding fielding was the reason KKR scored 208 runs.
With sixty runs in 33 balls, Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma gave the Sunrisers Hyderabad a strong starting point. However, SRH's performance began to deteriorate after that, and by the time they reached 12.5 overs, they were 111 for 4. After losing, Heinrich Klaasen and Shahbaz Ahmed's 16-ball partnership of 58 runs helped SRH climb back to within striking distance of victory. When Shahbaz was sixteen, he was out after just five balls. Klaasen was removed from the game after two more deliveries were delivered in the final over. After facing the opening delivery of the match, SRH captain Pat Cummins was handed the final ball of the game.
Six balls would have to score thirteen runs before the final over could begin. When Klaasen hit his tenth six of the innings, the number of runs needed increased from five to seven. When Harshit Rana removed Heinrich Klaasen and Shahbaz Ahmed from the game, the chances that SRH had generated vanished in an instant. Suyash Sharma had caught both players. All that was left was the final ball, the one that went into the hole. Andre Russell of the Kolkata Knight Riders was selected as the Player of the Match for to his 64 not out in 25 deliveries and his 2/25 bowling numbers.
