The parents of the Kolkata rape-murder victim have accused the police of attempting to cover up the horrific crime that took place inside the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The victim’s mother and father joined protesters in the city on Sunday, demanding justice for their daughter, who was brutally assaulted and murdered on August 9. The parents claim that the police did not cooperate with them from the start and tampered with evidence, further complicating their fight for justice.
The mother of the victim expressed her deep anguish, stating that she shudders whenever she thinks of the pain her daughter endured. She voiced her frustration with the authorities, accusing the police of trying to dismiss the crime as a suicide and delaying the FIR for 14 hours. The hospital, too, has faced criticism for its role in mishandling the situation. The parents were forced to wait for three hours before being allowed to see their daughter's body, further adding to their trauma.
