A suspected stolen Infiniti led Los Angeles police on a high-speed chase exceeding 100 mph across several freeways Friday night. The pursuit was abandoned after about 45 minutes for safety reasons. The car later hit a utility pole downtown, and the driver escaped on foot. Police are still searching.
Los Angeles police were involved in a high-speed chase late Friday night after a driver in a suspected stolen blue Infiniti refused to stop during a traffic attempt on the 110 Freeway. The pursuit quickly escalated, with speeds topping 100 mph as the chase spanned multiple freeways including the 10, 110, and 105 before moving onto city streets.
The California Highway Patrol later took over the pursuit as the driver maneuvered recklessly across Los Angeles. Despite the dangerous speeds and sharp turns, officials confirmed that there were no collisions or injuries reported during the chase.
By around 10:45 PM, law enforcement called off the pursuit, citing safety concerns. Shortly afterward, the vehicle struck a utility pole near the intersection of South Alameda Street and Newton Street in Downtown Los Angeles. The driver abandoned the damaged car and fled on foot.

Police have launched a search for the suspect but no arrests have been made so far. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the driver or the ownership of the stolen Infiniti. The incident adds to a growing number of high-speed pursuits in Los Angeles, where officers often weigh the dangers of continuing against public safety risks.
